Roland Reiss is pleased to host an Open Studio as part of The Brewery ArtWalk on Saturday, October 3 - Sunday, October, 4, 11am - 6 pm.

The Brewery ArtWalk is a twice annual open studio weekend at the worlds largest art complex. With over 100 participating resident artists, you will have the opportunity to see new works, discover new favorites, speak with the artists and purchase artwork directly from the artists' studios. The Brewery ArtWalk Association is a not-for-profit Organization. Their mission is to produce, organize and facilitate the recurring biannual event known as the Brewery ArtWalk. The Brewery ArtWalk is a free, educational, public arts event, designed to create an alternative venue for art exposure.

ROLAND REISS is a painter and sculptor from Southern California who has exhibited extensively in the United States and abroad. His work as been seen at the Whitney Museum of American Art and at Documenta in Kassel, Germany. Exhibitions include shows in Great Britain, South Korea, Belarus, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Brazil, Mexico, China, Canada, Italy, Germany, Japan and Taiwan. He is the recipient of four N.E.A. grants and of more than forty prizes and awards. His work is located in many public, corporate and private collections. In 2009 he recieved the Distinguished Teaching of Art Award from the College Art Association. 

Since 1992, Reiss has concentrated exclusively on painting. He studied at the American Academy of Art and UCLA. Before coming to Claremont, he taught painting and drawing at UCLA and at the University of Colorado. At Claremont Graduate University he was chair of the Art Department for 29 years and held the Benezet Chair in the Humanities. He also served as Director of the Center for the Arts and currently, he is Director of "Paintings Edge," an advanced program in painting for Idyllwild Arts.
