Gallery Event: "DEEP END: Artist's Afternoon with Genevieve Gaignard and Casey McGonagle", Saturday, August 9th, from 3:00-5:00pm

We invite you attend an Artist's Afternoon with Genevieve Gaignard and Casey McGonagle: two artists participating in "DEEP END: Yale MFA Photo 2014". Miss Gaignard and Mr. McGonagle have created mixed media installations at the gallery for this exhibtion. Please come visit the gallery this Saturday, August 9th, from 3:00 - 5:00pm to view the exhibition and speak with the artist’s about their work. 

“DEEP END: Yale MFA Photo 2014” (curated by Awol Erizku) is a group show with 10 recent graduates from the Yale University School of Art MFA program in Photography: Awol Erizku, Erin Desmond, Genevieve Gaignard, Hannah Hummel, Fumi Ishino, Casey McGonagle, Tyler Moore, Hannah Price, Billie Stultz, and Evan Whale. The MFA Photo program at Yale University is committed to a broad definition of photography as a lens-based medium open to a variety of expressive means.

About the Artists:

Genevieve Gaignard (USA, b. 1981) received her BFA from the Massachusetts College of Art, Boston, Massachusetts (2007) and her MFA in Photography from the Yale University School of Art, New Haven, Connecticut (2014). She is an artist who works in photography, sculpture, and installation. Miss Gaignard, who lives and works in Orange, Massachusetts, will present a site specific mixed media installation.

Casey McGonagle (USA, b. 1977) received his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2011) and his MFA in Photography from the Yale University School of Art, New Haven, Connecticut (2014). Mr. McGonagle has received two solo exhibitions of his photographs, Halfsleep: Casey McGonagle, HungryMan Gallery, Chicago, Illinois (2010) and Theater of Ghosts, Kokoro Studio, San Francisco, California (2009). His work has also been included in numerous group shows, including Weird Dude Energy, Heaven Gallery, Chicago, Illinois (2013) and The Collector's Guide to New Art Photography Vol. 2: The Exhibition (curated by Vanessa Kramer), Chelsea Art Museum, New York City, New York (2011). Casey McGonagle will present a video installation and sculpture from his Ghost Figures series. Mr. McGonagle lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
