July 8, 2014

DIANE ROSENSTEIN is pleased to announce DEEP END: YALE MFA PHOTO 2014, a group show that presents the work of Awol Erizku, Erin Desmond, Genevieve Gaignard, Hannah Hummel, Fumi Ishino, Casey McGonagle, Tyler Moore, Hannah Price, Billie Stultz, and Evan Whale -- 10 recent graduates from the Yale University School of Art MFA program in Photography.  The MFA Photography program at Yale University is committed to a broad definition of photography as a lens-based medium open to a variety of expressive means. A critique panel composed of faculty, artists, and critics -- including Gregory Crewsdon, Philip-Lorca diCorcia, and John Pilson -- meet weekly to discuss students' work.

This exhibition originated in New Haven (curated by Fumikazu Ishino), then traveled to the FLAG Art Foundation in New York, where artist Roe Etheridge curated the exhibition. Having reached its third and final destination, DEEP END: Los Angeles will be curated by New York-based artist and fellow classmate Awol Erizku. Last April, Mr. Erizku curated 13 Artists, an historic show of all artists of color enrolled in the Yale School of Art's MFA Program.

The five women and five men participating in this exhibition will present photographs, video, sound installation, textiles, sculpture, performance, and mixed media. The gallery will also host a public program of artist talks throughout the show, which is on view from July 19 through August 23.
