Jane Wilbraham (UK, b. 1967) studied at The Slade School of Art, London, UK (1990-92), The Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art at Oxford University, UK (1987-90), and the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten, Amsterdam, Netherlands (1993-95). Wilbraham's meticulous watercolors honor the tradition of Charles Burchfield and H.C. Westerman; her sculptural practice involves a contemplative process of meticulously carved sycamore; and like Lee Bontecou, she frequently employs pyrography. Her motifs arise from her relationship with the urban environment, and she uses crafted objects and images to create a bridge between the symbolic and the real.

Jane Wilbraham was included in Labour & Wait, curated by Julie Joyce at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, CA (June – Sept., 2013); and recently, in Party!, The New Art Gallery, Walsall, UK (2010) and New Acquisitions Exhibition, The British Museum, London, UK (2008).  Solo exhibitions include Slowdown (2011) and Ignoble Rot (2008), both at Hales Gallery, London, UK. Jane Wilbraham lives and works in London.
